Oooops they did it again …

Politicians in denial

17th May is well passed, and we’re all back to normal …

It’s just a short week after the "happy message" was published, and our lovely politicians does it gain.

- First (abt. May 10th), the Norwegian Minister of Finance grant the pensioners some pocket money (about NOK 1000 in tax reduction) which “dramatically” will improve their wealth …

As usual folks, - be aware of strangers bringing gifts, especially if they also are politicians!

This week it’s the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs that fronts the case of the government …

The social security settlement is under finalization, and the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs communicates on national TV (NRK), for the sake of the pension reform it's not appropriate to compensate pensioners for the annual under-regulation of 0.75 per cent.

While retirement pensioners receive an increase in the pension of 0.38 percent, this year's wage settlements in the private sector have a frame of 2.4 percent.

It is this factor that particularly contributes to the lack of purchasing power development for the pensfor the third consecutive year. In hard cash this represents a loss of purchasing power of around 13,000 NOK since 2015 for a pensioner.

However the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs didn’t stop there.

In the TV segment she continued that the pensioners should accept, be happy, and show solidarity with the other groups covered by the national pension reform. Great!

- Divide and conquer. One of the oldest tricks in the book …

With one hand they give (NOK 1000), with the other they take it away (NOK 1700). – This is a great way to build the future!

Knowing that several groups, in one of the world’s richest countries really struggle, politicians don’t manage to get their act together.

The gap between different groups of the population is increasing, and politicians focus their effort on the 2/3 that are doing fairly OK, the main group of voters politicians are interested in.

The silent minority, e.g. young unemployed with poor education, people with health problems, elderly etc., are of little interest to the politicians.
They may address the issues on occasion, but the record shows that Norway gradually is moving towards a less egalitarian and a “colder” society.

The election will come up in a few short months.

Be shure of two important things:

First: We will get their (politicians) promise of “heaven”, as long as we vote for them at the election …

Second: There is no responsibility so great, that a politician can't run away from it!

Conclusion: We, the people, will get screwed again!

To be continued …
